Arenberg Restaurant and Faculty Club receive Smiley!
As reported in the media just recently, only few restaurants have a self-assessment system which guarantees the safety of the food chain for the consumer. The Federal Food Agency rewards those restaurants which do meet the required standards with a Smiley, a label indicating that the restaurant owner applies a reliable system of food hygiene.
Arenberg Restaurant and Faculty Club are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Smiley. Basically, this means that Arenberg and Faculty Club have proven that they implement a reliable self-assessment system to ensure that the products used meet all the legal requirements in terms of food safety and quality throughout all stages of the production process.
Lieven Demeestere - chef of Michelin star restaurant Arenberg - and Tine Verhelst - Director of the Faculty Club - have maintained an intense collaboration for several years.
"Since the end of 2004 we have invested in culinary quality through the collaboration with Lieven and Iris Demeestere of Arenberg Restaurant. They put a professional team in our kitchen led by Pieter Dekeyser and offer advice on our wine selection. This, in combination with the customer-oriented service of our catering staff in a gorgeous setting, is already a unique experience." according to Tine Verhelst, head of the Faculty Club.
Lieven Demeestere: "The staff received very specific training, technical specifications were formalised, temperature measurements refined and procedures developed on the basis of the Catering Industry Guidelines. We are deservedly proud of our Smiley and we consider this certificate a wonderful recognition of the efforts made day in day out to guarantee the quality of our culinary product".
This label proves once again that both restaurants offer top quality and that they more than deserve the confidence of their customers.
