Infirmerie

This room is located on the ground floor of the Infirmary Building and is wheelchair accessible. The room is ideally suited for weddings, workshops, keynotes and other large-scale events. The flexible layout and modern facilities make this room ideal for a variety of occasions.

A piece of history

The Infirmary Building, an essential part of Flemish Beguinages since the 13th-14th centuries, served as a care facility for sick and elderly beguines, as well as needy women from the city. This self-contained complex had its own entrance and operated farms, a bakery and a cheese dairy, among other things. The Infirmary Hall contained 13 alcoves for patient care, and the current roof truss dates from the 16th century.
